Graduation at the Lowry Theatre in Salford Quays

Your Graduation ceremony will take place at:

The Lowry,
Pier 8, The Quays,
Salford,
M50 3AZ.

Potential Travel Disruption: During Summer Graduation (18-21 July 2023), train strikes are planned along with the closure of tram stops between Eccles and Weaste. Make sure to plan around this action and anticipate that public transport and roads may be busier.

Arriving by car

If you're travelling to us by car, spaces in our car parks are limited, so please do plan ahead of your visit. Find out more about MediaCity parking at our University, including costs and parking locations.

For those who need to travel by car, the link road with the M602 motorway gives drivers the option to approach MediaCity from either end of the Broadway. The M602 provides onward linkages to major routes leading in all directions.

Traveling by tram

Our campus is easily accessible by tram, with direct services to MediaCity and services that stop just within walking distance.

You can either get a tram directly to MediaCity or get a tram towards Eccles but get off at Harbour City or Broadway which will leave you with a five minute walk. Trams to Harbour City will be every six minutes, while trams to MediaCity will be every 12 minutes.

During Summer Graduation (18-21 July 2023), no trams will operate between Eccles and Weaste. Instead, there will be a replacement bus service. Find full details on the Transport for Greater Manchester website

You can also use the Metrolink app, where you can find maps of the Tram routes, see live departures and plan your journey.

Traveling by bus

The number 50 bus, operated by Stagecoach, runs every 10-15 minutes from Manchester City Centre. The bus travels past the University’s main Peel Park campus, as well as Salford Shopping Centre, and then on to MediaCity: its final destination.

The bus operates between 07:00 and 23:00 Monday-Friday, and between 08:00 and 18:00 at the weekend.

Staff and students can travel for free between the main University campus and MediaCity on the production of their University ID cards.

The X50 runs every 15 minutes from Manchester city centre to the Trafford Centre via Salford Quays. MediaCity is just a few minutes’ walk from the Imperial War Museum stop on Trafford Wharf Road, via the footbridge over the Manchester Ship Canal.

Accessibility

We have worked with AccessAble, the leading provider of access information for all disabled people in the UK, since 2008 to provide trusted accessibility information about our campus.

All of our buildings are equipped with a Deaf Alerter radio-based fire alarm warning and a public address messaging system.
