George Icke

Nominee:

First Year Student Award

Photojournalist of the Year Award

“I’m so grateful to have been shortlisted for the first-year journalism award. All of my lecturers have been so supportive whether it’s ShowbizShel listening to demos and offering feedback or asking Sara Hadwin for advice on how not to get sued when sending articles back to my local newspaper for publication. I’m really excited for the rest of the course.

I’m absolutely thrilled to have been nominated for photojournalist of the year. In terms of covering a story as the saying goes “a photo paints a thousand words.” Photos add such a different dimension to a story and can convey the sequence of events you recount such as the hunt protest I photographed and reported on in January this year. I feel hugely priviliged to be reporting and photographing for The Melton Times (JPI Media) whilst in my first year of university.”
