REST AND OVERTRAINING

Rest is a vital part of all dance training in order to facilitate learning and to help optimise performance. This talk explores the signs and symptoms of overtraining, and the ways that dancers can reduce fatigue and prevent burnout.

 


THEORY AND PRACTICE
OF INTERVAL AND CIRCUIT
TRAINING

This talk introduces dancers to the components of fi tness and their importance in dance, as well as introducing methods of interval training applicable to the demands of dance performance.

 


MASTERCLASS WITH INA
COLIZZA

Ina Colizza trained in ballet and contemporary dance at Akerusia Danza in Naples, Balletto di Toscana in Florence, and achieved a post graduate in dance teaching at the National Academy of Dance in Rome. Ina has danced in Giovane Balletto Mediterraneo, Akerusia Danza and Anemos. She also danced:
/ with Korper in ‘Welcome on Board’
/ for the NTF-Napoli Teatro Festival in ‘Stranded’
/ with surFace Dance at the Sound and Movement Symposium ‘Here not here, where?’ at the Royal College of Music, London as part of the Network Performing Arts Production Workshop
/ with CoDa Dance at Sadler’s Wells, as part of the Wild Card programme.
/ with Shelly Owen on two outdoors projects: ‘Resolution’ and ‘Speed Dating’
/ with Compagnie Thor in Brussels.
Ina, with Antonello Apicella, is a co-founder of the Matrafi sc dance company (www.matrafi scdance.com). Ina teaches a physically choreographed and momentous class focusing on the strength and softness of the body.
