Event details

Established in 2013, King of the North (KOTN) is the largest student gaming festival in the UK. KOTN is run by students of the University of Manchester Esports Society and features a national esports tournament plus an interactive live event for the public.

The year, KOTN has partnered up with the University of Salford to produce an event like never before. The event will take place on Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 March 2018 at our MediaCityUK campus.

The tournament is open to UK university students across the UK and includes League of Legends, Overwatch and Counter Strike: Global Offensive. The online qualifiers will be held on Saturday 17 February and Saturday 24 February. The top two teams of each qualifier will be invited to semis and finals and the live event in March.

Across the main weekend, there will be a range of activities, stalls and giveaways that anyone and everyone is invited to take part in, including smaller tournaments in Super Smash Bros WiiU and StreetFighter V.
