Our yearly opportunity to recognise and celebrate the extraordinary achievements of our alumni
Held in New Adelphi, our stunning new arts building in the heart of the main campus, this year’s Salford Alumni Celebration marks the culmination of 12 months of celebrations in honour of the University’s 50th anniversary - we hope you will join us for an evening of awards, live music, entertainment and plenty of festive cheer!
Each year the highlight of the evening is the presentation of our Alumni Achievement Awards, honouring a unique group of Salford graduates who have been nominated by their fellow alumni in recognition of the excellence they have achieved in their chosen field. This year’s winners include: animator Fonzo Romano, who won an Oscar for his work on the Jungle Book (2016); Sukumar Devotta, who was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize alongside Al Gore Jr in 2007 for his seminal work on climate change; and Professor Adrian Hobbs CBE, who’s pioneering crash injury research helped lead to the mandatory wearing of seatbelts in the UK. We are so pleased to be recognising the outstanding successes of all the award recipients during our jubilee year.
We will also be presenting our first ever Rising Star awards, which recognise those alumni who have accomplished great things within the first ten years since they graduated and who we believe will go on to achieve even greater success in the future.
