Academic Citizenship Programme

This programme helps our post graduate researchers transition into an academic role after completing their doctorate. It provides specific training and development activities to be taken alongside the research programme and the aim is for researchers to be a 'ready to start' academic following the successful completion of their doctorate. 

As well as providing skills, the programme provides support to help participants articulate their knowledge, abilities and experiences effectively. Successful participants are eligible to apply for Associate Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (HEA) with the first submission fully funded by the Doctoral School. 

Achieving Associate Fellowship status emphasises your commitment to professional practice in higher education and is increasingly sought by employers across the education sector as a condition of appointment and promotion.

Places are limited and awarded on a competitive basis.
