Ad hoc software installations

Rather than being added to the disk image, a software product may be individually-installed by Digital IT on the relevant PC or group of PCs  (usually over the data network, via the 'Application Explorer' icon on the desktop), particularly if the group of PCs is relatively small. With this method, if a PC in the group is re-imaged, the system will automatically detect that the software is missing, and will re-deploy it. If software in this category is required on suite, lab or other learning space PCs, you should contact your local School technical staff in the first instance. If the software is required for sets of staff/job-share PCs or for PCs assigned to a specialized business function, please contact the Digital ITService Desk in the first instance.
