Functional email request format

A functional email address is an email address that relates to a role or group, rather than an individual named member of staff, and follows a particular format.

For Housekeeping purposes and for ease of searching in Outlook address books, functional accounts will contain the dept/school/support division prefix in the display and email address.

If there is a justified business reason for the email address not to contain the prefix, please supply a supporting statement with your request. These requests will be considered on a case by case basis by the account administrators.

A functional email address is set up as a separate account with its own username, and has the following format:

<department>-<function> e.g.
