Waiting, 2018

My subject matter is an exploration of objects featured in office spaces and work environments and transforming them into non-functioning wood replicas painted in matt pastel paint. The colour highlights the unreality of these spaces.

I have been working on several sculptures that come together to create one large-scale installation.  Each sculpture reflects upon certain themes:  the water cooler – communication and consensus, the filing cabinet – organization and taxonomy etc.

My work examines these uniform environments as little more than cages, creating an aesthetic appeal that keeps employees obedient but in turn strips them of their creativity and imagination.
