School of Health and Society
This 15 credit Principles of Advanced Practice (PAP) module is theoretical and mandatory if you are new to post-graduate level study and/or intended to further develop your scope of clinical practice.
It is available as part of our MSc Advanced Medical Imaging.
This module will help maximise your potential for success in your postgraduate Advanced Medical Imaging study pathway and direct your development across the four pillars of advanced clinical practice.

The module will be delivered using a blended learning approach.
Some content will be delivered on campus at the University of Salford. The University’s Virtual Learning Environment, Blackboard Ultra, will be used for live online tutorials as well as providing students with directed learning resources and access to the library’s extensive databases to complete independent learning.

This module is taken as part of our MSc Advanced Medical Imaging programme.
As a school, we work with over 100 health and social care organisations so our links with industry are very strong. These relationships will be of direct benefit to you because our academic team work in practice in some of these organisations at a senior level so are able to keep you at the forefront of developments in the sector which in turn help you provide a better service.
If you do not meet our entry requirements you will be asked to complete a writing task prior to being made an offer to study, please ensure that you apply in good time for this to be completed.

Previous study and experience
You will hold a degree in BSc (Hons) in Diagnostic Radiography or other health care professional qualification, 2:1 or above.
Accreditation of Prior Learning (APL)
We welcome applications from students who may not have formal/traditional entry criteria but who have relevant experience or the ability to pursue the course successfully.
The Accreditation of Prior Learning (APL) process could help you to make your work and life experience count. The APL process can be used for entry onto courses or to give you exemptions from parts of your course.
Two forms of APL may be used for entry: the Accreditation of Prior Certificated Learning (APCL) or the Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning (APEL).
