Dr Peter Reeves
Dr. Peter Reeves is Lecturer at Salford Business School. He was educated at the University of Birmingham where he earned a Bachelor of Commerce Honours Degree, an MSc in Economic Development Research and Policy and a Doctorate in Commerce. He has held several scholarships most notably the Joseph Chamberlain Scholarship. His main research interests include political marketing and brand marketing. His work has been published in peer reviewed journals and he is a regular presenter and contributor to major research conferences. His work has been published in journals such as; European Journal of Marketing, Journal of Brand Management and Journal of Non-profit and Public Sector Marketing. He was Guest Editor for a 2016 special edition of the Journal of Customer Behaviour entitled: Political Marketing: Voters, political parties, candidates and elections. He served on the Editorial (Advisory) Board of the Journal of Marketing Management (2010-2016).He serves on the editorial advisory board of Marketing Intelligence and Planning (2017-). Dr. Reeves is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA), Fellow Member of the Academy of Marketing Science and Member of the Academy of the Marketing (MAM). He is Deputy Chair of the Political Marketing Special Interest Group of the Academy of Marketing and will be co-chair of the Political Marketing track at the Academy of Marketing 2018. He is also serves on the Political Studies Association Political Marketing Group where he has responsibility for event organisation. He chaired the 1st Political Marketing Group meeting on Political Marketing and the Future of the Labour Party at the University of Salford in 2017. He is a successful doctoral supervisor, and has actively supervised varied PhD projects to successful completion. He has also been internal examiner on several PhD theses. Dr. Reeves is also a dedicated educator. He is Programme Leader for MSc Marketing and MSc Social Business and Sustainable Marketing. He teaches (in conjunction with academic colleagues) a range of degree modules. These include/ have included at BSc level Marketing Management and Integrated Marketing Communications. At MSc level he also taught Marketing and Services Management, Strategic Marketing Management, Brand Management, Marketing Management, Strategic Management and Managing Customers and Markets. He has taught extensively on the postgraduate block release intensive module delivery at University of Salford Media City Campus, and has considerable expertise in e-learning methodologies. He is currently aTechnology Enhanced Learning Champion at the University of Salford. He is an experienced external examiner with external examination appointments to Kingston University (Postgraduate) and New Bucks University (Undergraduate). He has also been external advisor to University of Northampton for the Periodic Subject Review of Marketing and Entrepreneurship programmes, and reviewer for University of Buckingham. He has significant experience in leading programme design and validation in the marketing area at undergraduate and postgraduate level.
PhD Supervision My main research interest is in the area of political marketing. I would be interested in supervising future doctoral students in the general areas of: U.K and/ or U.S political marketing/ campaigning
