Salford Business School

Business and partnerships

For 50 years, the University of Salford has prepared people for work. The University was born out of the technical colleges that, in the late 19th century, were established to provide a talented, technically proficient and professional workforce to support the north west’s rapidly growing industries.  In the 21st century, this ambition still holds strong. Whilst the industries of Salford, Greater Manchester and the North West have changed significantly, their need to access a rich talent pool of future employees, as well as the knowledge and research of academics, is equally relevant today.

Our belief in making a tangible contribution to industry, in improving opportunities for all stakeholders and in living by strongly held social justice values has forged our identity. By pioneering exceptional industry partnerships, we lead the way in real world experiences, preparing students for life.

Salford Business School engages with industry in a number of ways to meet global challenges. By using existing resources and ideas in new ways, we develop truly exceptional industry partnerships.  This in turn allows us to offer a real-world approach to learning with a flexible, industry-informed and research-based curriculum co-created by the Business School and industry. Salford is therefore the School of choice for students wanting a hands-on, work-based high quality learning experience.
