Dr May Bassanino

Research Fellow


May has over 15 years’ experience in conducting and delivering interdisciplinary academic research projects in the areas of collaborative engineering, process modelling and evaluation frameworks. This expertise has been applied to a variety of domains including Construction, Ecosystem, Social, Design and Energy. Through these projects, she has worked with multi stakeholders and clients from the UK and across Europe, ranging from small businesses to large companies as well as academic institutes. May’s recent work has a focus on the social value including environmental, social and economic aspects, and the added-value design can bring in to shape the future of the Built Environment.

In her early career, May gained her industrial experience through working in architectural offices in both the UK and the Middle East before pursuing her Post-Graduate studies and receiving her M.Arch and PhD degrees from the University of Liverpool. Through her teaching posts in both Sheffield and Salford universities, May has successfully delivered courses in Architecture for undergraduate and post-graduate students.
