Kevin Aspin has held a passion for the property profession since the age of 12. Educated at Hyde Grammar School and later at the former Manchester College of Building where he was awarded a number of National Prizes in Valuation and Planning & Development culminating in qualifying as a Chartered Surveyor in 1991.
Kevin started his career as a Trainee Surveyor in 1982 at Tameside MBC. He was Head of Estates and Asset Management from January 2005 to August 2011.
Kevin now runs his Company Aspin and Company from his Stalybridge office and advises a number of clients in a whole range of property related matters. Kevin also advises the Local Government Ombudsman Service with property related complaints.
For the last 18 years, Kevin has lectured at various Universities and in 2015 was appointed Programme Director in Post Graduate Studies in Real Estate at the University of Salford on a part time basis. Kevin has developed a further part time career in public, conference and after dinner speaking.
Kevin is also the Author of several publications and training courses including ‘Exploring Valuation Methodology’ and ‘Opening the Property Compendium Box’. Kevin is also a faithful servant to RICS Training delivering web classes in a number of subjects and is also an RICS APC Assessor.
Kevin shares his adventures as a Chartered Surveyor and University Lecturer with his part time interest as a Junior Football Coach steering his (son’s) Under 12’s team to their first ever Cup win in 2016 and still plays himself in a Veterans League and is a life-long Oldham Athletic Season Ticket Holder.
