What is the Part Time Jobs & Volunteering Work Fair?

The Part Time Jobs & Volunteering Work Fair is a free one-day event that gives you the opportunity to meet lots of employers offering:

  • Part-time jobs in the local area:  Paid jobs that can fit around your study commitments (on days when you do not have lectures / seminars, in the evenings and at weekends). These jobs may also be available (part or full time) over the vacation-periods (Christmas, Easter or Summer).
  • Vacation-period jobs:  Paid jobs over the Christmas, Easter or Summer vacation periods. Work may also be available during term-time on a part-time basis.
  • Voluntary Work:  Unpaid volunteering opportunities to fit around your study commitments.

Each employer will staff a stand at the Part Time Jobs & Volunteering Work Fair to promote and provide information about their vacancies. Some employers will be handing out application forms, some will accept your CV and others will just want to chat to you and take your contact details.

These vacancies can provide valuable opportunities to gain experiences and develop employment skills that can help you stand out from other applicants in the graduate job market in the future.

Staff from Careers & Employability will be available on the day to answer quick questions about finding suitable work experience, making job applications and other job / career related issues.

If you have any questions about the event, contact the University's Careers & Employability on 0161 295 0023, send an email to
