We have plenty of events happening on campus and virtually. There are a few ways to find out what’s happening (depending on what you’re looking for), so we’ve listed a few options below.
Welcome events
Welcome is filled with events for you to take part in both online and face to face (with safety measures in place), so whether you’re interested in finding our more about the campus, or you just want to meet some friendly faces, there will be plenty of things to fill your time with.

Student Hub
Our Student Hub is your digital noticeboard, newspaper and holiday rep all in one. Here you’ll get the first look at what is happening around the campus, as well as familiarising yourself with the different teams and services around campus.

Advantage
For the more academic or progression-focused events, such as seminars or Skills for Learning, Advantage is the place you need to be. Once you log in using your student details, you’ll be able to see scheduled workshops, masterclasses and other events put on by services across the Uni like Careers and the Library and book straight in to them.

Societies
Societies are the bread and butter of student life at any university (not forgetting the academic stuff!). Take a look through the huge amount of societies there are at Salford and see what events they’re holding on their social sites, which you can find through the SU website.

Students’ Union
The SU hold a lot of social events for all students and also hold helpful workshops and focus groups. To find out what is coming up through the SU, take a look at their website.

Blackboard
During welcome week, you’ll access to your elite learner management platform, aka Blackboard –if you want to sound less pretentious. You’ll be able to see all the introductory sessions that your course leaders have planned. You’ll also be able to browse through events which are exclusive to your school. Make sure you have a look, as some of these activities are compulsory!
