Concerns About a Student’s Welfare or Behaviour

If you are concerned about a student’s welfare you should take appropriate steps if it is an emergency such as calling an ambulance if they are suicidal or calling the police if you believe they are missing and at risk.

However, you can also inform us of your concerns by contacting askUS or the University Switchboard whether you take immediate action or not. We will take any appropriate steps in relation to the information you provide but may not be able to inform you of this due to the requirements of confidentiality.

You can also use Report & Support to report a concerning behaviour on campus such as: bullying, racism, domestic abuse, hate incidents and hate crime, child abuse, sexual assault, sexual harassment and misconduct, exploitation, coercion and radicalisation.

If you are experiencing issues arising from a student’s behaviour you should take steps appropriate to the situation such as contacting your local Council about noise complaints or rubbish collection issues or potentially contacting the police in relation to criminal activity.
