University life is unique and not just about academic study. There are so many different things that go into your time at uni, including your social life, using different facilities on campus, making the most of extra opportunities, connecting with your peers and community and so much more. Uni is about more than study and there are plenty of ways to get involved with whatever holds your interest.

Student Voice
Do you want to sit on the side-lines or do you want to invest in your future, improve your University, get involved and have your voice heard? Student Voice is critical to how we organise the University and how we run your courses. Every University of Salford student can give feedback.
Students’ Union
The University of Salford Students’ Union gives you lots of opportunities to get involved from societies, to volunteering, to wellbeing, to tickets and offers, to student-specific events and activities and more. You can also find advice and wellbeing information as well as get in contact with your student reps.
Societies
Societies are a great way to meet new people and make friends outside your course. Our Students’ Union looks after more than 50 societies to suit every interest. They cover all aspects of student life, from academic to liberation, political to performance, and international to faith. You can even start your own!
Team Salford
Heard of Team Salford? It’s the home of sport at our University. You can get involved through the Students’ Union on a few different levels: through competitive sport against other universities, campus leagues against other Salford students, or by giving different sports a go with no obligation.

Uni life is also about how you use the campus. We have lots of facilities you can take advantage of, but we also know that having a go-to place for food or coffee is just as important to making the most of uni life.

Buildings
We have a range of buildings across campus, from the classic Peel Building to the modern New Adelphi. All our buildings are modern inside with plenty of places to sit and relax outside of study. Take a look around when you're next on campus or read information on the Student Hub.
Food outlets
Getting the food you love makes a big difference to your quality of life. Find out more about our on-campus food outlets and some advice on where you can get specialist food locally.
The Library
Quiet rooms, group and solo study spaces, areas to relax, books, computers, laptops to loan and printing facilities (and that’s just in the physical library – there’s plenty more online!).
Sports Centre
Our on-campus Sports Centre has five fitness suite rooms, a 25-metre pool, dance studio, a six-court sports hall and squash courts, as well as a 3G pitch and grass pitches. They have more than 30 fitness classes a week and lots of membership types.
Faith Centre
The Faith Centre is open to everyone, regardless of your beliefs. We offer unique spaces for group worship, private prayer, personal reflection, social activities and more.
Being on campus
WiFi and IT
Digital IT looks after all your technical connections, including WiFi on campus. They can help you with any IT issues you’re having, improving your digital security and support you with University software systems.
Safety and security
Your safety and security are incredibly important to us, which is why we have a dedicated security team for our campuses with a control room operating 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Security Services are also available for advice and assistance at all hours of the day.
Accessibility on campus
We work closely with DisabledGo to ensure our campuses remain accessible to all. While we occasionally have temporary changes due to major works to improve the campus, you can find accessible routes and more through the AccessAble Salford Uni app. We also have accessible car parking and deaf alert systems. Make sure to connect with our Disability and Learner Support team if you may need reasonable adjustments made to ensure you can attend classes.
Getting to campus
You can get to campus in a number of ways, with the University surrounded by footpaths, bike paths, bus stops, Salford Crescent train station for our main campuses and MediaCityUK tram stop for our MCUK campus, as well as major roads.
