Prospective Students

Whilst at university maintaining positive mental health is something the university’s Wellbeing Service can support you with. If you have any worries about your mental health before starting your course we can explore a range of different support options with you, such as, positive coping techniques, therapeutic options and more. You can access our service in lots of different ways - face to face, phone appointments or we can offer advice to you over email, whichever you feel most at ease with.

If you have any questions before starting here at Salford university you can email wellbeing@salford.ac.uk with the subject header “Applicant Query” and we will respond to you as soon as possible.  Or alternatively you can call us and speak to someone on our team on 0161 295 0023, choosing option 1, then option 1 again.

Need help with moving your mental health care provider

If you are currently under the care of a mental health service where you live and are looking to transfer this support to the local area when you move to University but are unsure of how to do this, The Wellbeing Team can offer you guidance.  If you would like to speak to someone about how to transfer your care, you can contact us on 0161 295 0023 option 1 option 1 and ask to speak to a Wellbeing Advisor who will be happy to talk this through with you and help you get in touch with the most appropriate service. You can also email wellbeing@salford.ac.uk with the subject header “Applicant Query” and we will respond to you as soon as possible.

Schools and Colleges

Schools and colleges may wish to support their final year students with their transition to university life at Salford by referring prospective students to the Wellbeing team before they arrive at university.

Our aim is for students to feel reassured and supported from day one, so we welcome any queries from prospective students or the staff from their current 6th form or college, about how we may be able to support their individual wellbeing once they start their university studies. You can email wellbeing@salford.ac.uk with the subject header “Applicant Query” and we will respond to you as soon as possible.
