Rev’d. Helen Tomlinson
Hi, my name is Helen and I’m the Anglican Chaplain here at the University of Salford. I enjoy working as part of a multi-faith team whose aim is to offer support to both students and staff of any or no faith and to offer a listening ear and also to be pro-active in finding people the help they need. We are located in the Faith Centre and my office is Room FC115.
I was ordained in 2008 in the Manchester Diocese and, before coming to the University, I worked as a chaplain at The Christie hospital. I entered education later in life and so can personally relate to those returning to education. I also work in the North Manchester Deanery as part of a ministry team where I’m involved in services most Sundays.
When I’m not at work, I enjoy spending time with any of my children, grandchildren and friends, walking, trying to grow veggies and, also, trying to improve my guitar playing…must try harder!
I’m happy to listen or chat with any student or member of staff and can provide a sounding board, spiritual support or even just a brew and a biscuit!
