Imam Rashid Musa

Imam Rashid MusaHi, I'm  Imam Rashid, the Muslim chaplain.

I have had the privilege to attain two degrees from the prestigious University of Madina, the second holiest city of Islam including a Diploma in Teaching and then MA in Comparative Religion from Manchester.

I have worked extensively in both an academic and a support capacity in further and higher education throughout the North West and in various chaplaincies including prison and hospital chaplaincy.

In addition to my role as a Chaplain, I also lecture for different departments across the University and I regularly lecture at religious and educational institutes across the country and abroad.

As part of the chaplaincy team, we are all committed to help and support each and every staff member and student of any faith and no faith and my role as The Muslim Chaplain at Salford involves representing Islam within the University community, raising awareness of Muslim students and staff, and identifying and responding to their specific pastoral, cultural and spiritual needs.

My pass time hobby is following the premier league and I look forward the most to visit the holy lands with my family.

I value working with young people and supporting them and I enjoy putting up events. Seeing people enjoy the facilities of our Faith Centre, the support, the services and the events, gives me satisfaction and makes me love my job.

I cherish seeing and being visited by any member of our University community over a cup of tea or coffee at my office.
