Police registration

You can find out here whether you are required to register with the Police.

If you are coming to the UK for more than six months, you may be required to register with the police as part of your visa regulations.

The requirement to register with the Police will be on your visa if you registered before August 2016 and will be shown on your decision letter and your temporary visa if you register from September 2016 onwards.

Registering with the police is an important part of your visa requirements. Failure to register with the police may result in a fine of up to £5000 and/or imprisonment for six months.

You must register with the Police within seven days of entering the UK.

If you are unable to book a Police Registration appointment within this timeframe, you must show that you have made an appointment for the earliest available time slot.
