The Chinese sports brand, Anta, wants to make an impact on a UK audience! The brand is well known in China, and now bravely wants to place itself in the UK as a ‘sports/fashion’ option for a demographic of 18-35 year olds in the UK. The brand will be placed alongside existing very ‘established’ brands such as Adidas and Nike, that make the crossover from function and fashion in their offerings of shoes, clothing and accessories.
Anta needs to make an impact as a brand both in an audience awareness of it being a unique offering against its competitors and in its presence in store and online…. Think of existing retail environments and how they work, and how they could work better! Don’t think of just posters…Audiences these days want to get involved with brands through both physical and digital contact and experience.

Come along to the Nutrition and Exercise as Medicine session and get a feel for what your degree experience could be here at Salford!
The session will firstly introduce you to staff members, outline the programme, and provide the opportunity to meet other applicants. Attendees will then be provided the opportunity to use Nutritics, a leading dietary analysis software used by sport and health professionals worldwide. Nutritics allows the recording and analysis of an individual’s diet, ascertaining their daily energy, macronutrient, vitamin, mineral, and lipid component intake. This can be compared to the recommended ranges for optimal health and performance, based on your own personal characteristics and physical activity levels. Nutrition and Exercise as Medicine staff will help attendees to explore methods of improving their dietary intake, including simple food swaps.
You will also undertake field tests of fitness and health, including assessments of strength, flexibility, cardiorespiratory fitness, and blood pressure. Again, this can be compared to the recommended ranges for optimal health and fitness, and areas for improvement identified. Don't forget to bring any questions along as you will also have the opportunity to ask them to our academics and current students!

Accept your offer on UCAS
You can accept a maximum of two choices – one firm and one insurance. You can only have an insurance choice if your firm choice is a conditional offer. If you accept an unconditional offer as your firm choice then the place is guaranteed, so you cannot have an insurance choice. Make sure you know when the deadline is to accept your offer.
Accommodation
If you are planning to move away from home, you will need to start looking for suitable accommodation. The University accommodation will open for bookings around February. We will email you in advance to let you know when it will open. If you initially indicated on your UCAS application that you wanted to live at home and have changed your mind, then this isn't a problem at all. You can find further information on our accommodation here. There will be an opportunity to book your place, with Campus Living Villages, at the event.
Student Finance
Applications for student finance for courses starting September 2023 to 2024 will open soon. You can find further information here. Make sure you submit your application in plenty of time, so your funding is in place when you start your course.
Applicant Visit Day travel bursary
To make it easier for you to come and visit us, we're offering a travel bursary of up to £50 to offset some of the cost of travelling to your Applicant Visit Day. If you live in Greater Manchester, we'll contribute £20 to the cost of your visit; for anyone coming from further afield, we'll contribute £50.
A couple of days after the Applicant Visit Day, we will send an email to all attendees* which will include a form you must complete for us to process the travel bursary. There are a few rules and regulations to this, as you might expect, so here’s a quick run down:
- Payments will be made via BACS transfer to UK bank accounts only.
- You will be asked to provide the relevant sort code, account code and account name for the account you want the money to go to. Please make sure you double check this before you submit the form.
- You are able to use a parent or supporter’s bank account, should you wish, but you must put the correct account details, including the name.
- The form will also ask you to submit your postcode, which we’ll check against the address on your application.
- All claims must be submitted within fourteen days of the Applicant Visit Day, and payment will then be made within
ten days. - The payment rate is £20 per applicant living within Greater Manchester, and £50 for those outside Greater Manchester.
- The payment is per applicant attending the event, not for each person who may attend with you.
- The information you provide will be kept securely and in keeping with the University’s Data Protection Policy available at salford.ac.uk/privacy.
* Please note that this will be sent to the primary email used to book onto the Applicant Visit Day
Please review the terms and conditions of the AVD travel bursary scheme here.
