Applicant Social Event
Our Applicant Social Event will take place on Wednesday 6 December 2023, giving you the chance to meet our students and staff and ask questions about life at our University. We'll also be running coaches to and from Manchester Christmas markets after the event, so you can explore the city centre and all it has to offer.
What to expect
Wednesday 6 December 2023
Venue: SEE Building, Peel Park campus
Check-in will open at 13:30 to give you a chance to grab a festive drink before joining our Welcome presentation. Throughout the afternoon you will have the chance to:
- Find out more about the student experience and living at Salford
- Learn more about our courses
- Speak to tutors, academics and current students
- See our campus and facilities
- Find out about fees and funding
- Discover hints and tips to enhance your application journey
- Talk to us about student support
The event will finish on campus at 17:00.
After 17:00 you can join us, on the free coaches, heading into Manchester to explore the world-famous Christmas markets. We will be running return shuttle buses to the University campus at 19:30 and 20:00. If you are not on any returning coaches, we assume you're making your own way home.
The markets are uncovered, so please wear appropriate clothing.

Manchester Christmas markets
The Manchester Christmas markets take place in November and December each year across the city. To help get you in the festive spirit, have a look at our video below to see what our students got up to when they visited previous Christmas markets.

How long does the event last?
The event will start from 13:30 and finish on campus at 17:00 when we will be offering transport to and from the Manchester Christmas markets. We will be running return shuttle buses to the University campus at 19:30 and 20:00. If you are not on any returning coaches, we assume you're making your own way home.
Once you have booked your place you will receive booking confirmation and a full itinerary for the day.
Can my parent/carer/supporter attend the event?
Yes! Parents, carers and supporters are welcome to attend with you. Make sure they sign up to our newsletter as well.
Do you have support for students with a disability?
Yes. If you have a disability, please contact us to discuss your access requirements. We’ll then work with you to do everything we can to support you on the day. The askUS team will also be available throughout the event to discuss the support available to you throughout your time studying at Salford.
