We are 50
As we come to the close of what has been a tremendous Jubilee year, we would like to share with you some of the many highlights...
- Our industry collaboration zones have gone from strength to strength. Our strategic partnerships with Salford City Council and the Arts Council England, with Manchester Storm and Manchester Science Festival are just some of the many other examples of how we are valued as a trusted partner in the delivery of shared objectives.
- All our efforts are receiving increasing recognition and accolade nationally and internationally; we climbed ten places in the prestigious Sunday Times University rankings and were acknowledged as one of the best in the world for two of our subject areas with Architecture and the Built Environment ranked in 36th place and Civil and Structural Engineering also in the top 200 of the QS rankings.
- Similarly, we’ve held the first ever interdisciplinary conference on the life and legacy of Prince drawing much global interest and we were shortlisted for no fewer than four Times Higher Education Awards. The University was also one of only 27 institutions to be shortlisted for the Higher Education Academy’s Global Teaching Excellence Awards. Our reputation hasn’t gone unnoticed either, in 2017 we welcomed the largest cohort of students we have ever recruited.
