Welcome events
University is about more than studying, which is why we've created a schedule of activities to welcome you to Salford. Our events will help you get settled in to university life.
Our events will be a mixture of face to face and online events. Some you can take part in in your own time and others will be delivered live by our Students' Union. You'll be able to explore different things, pick up a new hobby, or explore different social groups that you're interested in!

Meet people with similar interests
As well as taking part in our events, another great way to meet new people is through our new app, designed specifically for university students.
We’ve partnered with Umii, an app which connects students based on shared interests, course and society preferences, so it’s easy to get to know people even before you start in January.
Simply download the Umii app, set up your profile with your interests, add a quick bio and you are all set. Every day Umii will suggest 3-5 Salford students to connect with and before you know it, you’ll be making friends to meet when you get to campus!
