Meet the students online - Thursday 9th April 10:00 – 12:00

"Ask a lot of questions..."

"Staff and student ambassadors were very accommodating and went into a lot of detail in explaining the courses. They also allowed you to ask a lot of questions."

Feedback from Applicant Visit Day visitor

This event is focused on you finding out what studying at the University of Salford is really like. The event is based around two presentations, with the main session being conducted by our current students. They will provide you with the opportunity to ask further questions and speak to students who have been in your position recently; you will be able to hear about their transition to higher education and how they have found moving away from home. There will also be some additional opportunities to find out information on student support, finance, accommodation and a chance to see a little bit of Salford for yourself.

We’ve also put together a general guide for Parents, Carers and Supporters to help you in your vital role of supporting your applicant through the application and decision-making process.

To access the Presentations, please follow these three steps. If you have any difficulty with any of the steps please click on the live chat icon at the bottom right of your screen and one of our team will help you:

Step One: Open this webpage in Google Chrome using a PC or laptop (other browsers/devices will work but can’t guarantee their functionality)

Step Two: Select the session you would like to attend from the drop-down menu above and click the link to the Presentation Room

Step Three: Enter your first name and surname and click Join Session. Note: if you have not used Collaborate before it will ask you about your mic and camera settings – you do not need to grant access to these as we have disabled all mics and cameras

You should now be in the Presentation Room! To ask us a question please click on the two arrows symbol in the bottom right-hand corner of your screen and this will open a chat box. You can post a question in the main Chat Room for others to see, or if you have a private question for a member of staff you can click the three dots to the right of their name.

When you enter the room your mic and camera will automatically be turned off. This will not affect your ability to interact with the session. The only information other participants can see is your name and photo if you choose to add one.

It depends on what sessions you would like to attend but the event runs 10:00am – 12:00pm.

You are welcome to attend as much or as little as you want, and you can just leave the session whenever you choose.

The student support and finance talk as well as the accommodation presentation will be made available. The course sessions will not be recorded so if you would like to speak to an academic following the event, please contact us at and we can provide you with their details.

If your system isn’t working, there are staff members known as moderators in each of the rooms. If you are unable to gain access to any of this on the day, please contact the team via the live chat function at the bottom right handside of this page.

If there are any questions not covered in the sessions, then please feel free to contact us by emailing or phone +44 (0)161 295 4545.
