Thank you for your application for a place on the above course.

What will happen at the interview?

The interview day will begin with a brief introductory talk, followed by a group interview. The group interview will last 30 minutes and involve discussion around two scenarios. There will normally be 10 applicants per group and 4 interviewers. The interviewers will include members of the academic team, clinical tutors and current students.

There will also be an opportunity to tour the clinical teaching facilities, meet some of our students as well as members of the academic and clinical team. You will also be able to ask questions about the programme throughout the day.

You will be with us for approximately 3 hours. Family and friends are welcome to accompany you on the day, there is a coffee shop on Campus where they can wait whilst you are in the interview. A member of staff will also be available to answer any questions they may have whist you are being interviewed.

Please allow sufficient time for travel; if you are more than 10 minutes late you will NOT be interviewed.

What do I need to bring to the interview?

Please bring the following - Original and one photocopy of:

  • Photographic ID – e.g. passport, driving licence
  • One passport sized photograph, with your name clearly printed on the reverse
  • Original Certificates for any qualifications already achieved, plus a photocopy

NB: You won’t be turned away if you don’t have your certificates yet.  But you will NOT be interviewed if you do not have your photo ID and photograph.

On arrival please go to the Allerton Building Frederick Road, M6 6PU and report to reception. Please download a campus map or take a look at our travel information: Allerton is number 17 on the map.  

Please be aware that car parking charges do apply upon entry to the car park, details of the tariff can be found on our website here: and will be displayed in the car parks.

Please ensure that you arrive promptly and allow time for travel. If you are travelling during rush hour, please be mindful of the effect this may have on your journey time and plan accordingly.

Can’t make your interview date

If you are unable to attend your interview, please contact us as soon as possible to discuss this. In some circumstances we may be able to offer an alternative date however we cannot guarantee this.  Please contact us on 0161 295 4545 and select the option for interview queries.

I no longer want to attend my interview

If you do not wish to attend your interview we will not be able to continue with your application to the University of Salford. Please email us on stating your intention to withdraw your application and we will make your application unsuccessful on UCAS. Please quote your full name, date of birth and UCAS ID number to enable us to deal with this efficiently.

When will I be informed of my decision?

Though some applicants will be informed of decisions shortly following interview, some decisions will not be available until the end of April.  If you are interviewed after March we will inform you of our decision prior to the next UCAS deadline.  All decisions will be made available via UCAS track.

Any offers of a place will be conditional upon the University’s receipt of:

  • Satisfactory Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) check (If you have any concerns regarding this please discuss these at the interview)
  • Satisfactory health screening
  • Satisfactory references (if not provided prior to interview)
  • Successful completion and proof of required entry qualifications
