Feedback from Applicant Visit Day visitor

Your Applicant Visit Day is almost here! We’re looking forward to seeing you.

We’ve put this page together to give you a bit more information about the day but if you have any more questions, feel free to get in touch on 0161 295 4545, enquiries@salford.ac.uk or @salforduni.

Overview

Select your course below to see where you need to check in, where to park and view the schedule for your specific course session. When you arrive and check in, we’ll provide you with a full printed visitor’s guide for the day but the downloadable version below will give you and early look at what will be happening and allow you to plan your day in order to make the most of your visit.

We'll have plenty of Student Ambassadors, staff and signs throughout campus to help you find your way around but you may also want to have a look at our campus map to familiarise yourself before you visit. Most of our campus - and even the inside of a few of our buildings - is also on Google Street View if you prefer to have a more interactive look around.

Parents, Carers, and Supporters

We’ve put together a general guide for Parents, Carers and Supporters to help them in their vital role of supporting you through the application and decision-making process. Please consider sharing with them if you think they would find it helpful.

When, What & Where

Select your course from the below list to find out more about when to arrive, what’s happening on the day and where you need to be.

Travel Info

Salford Crescent train station is located in the middle of our campus, between our Peel Park and Frederick Road sites, making us very easy to get to by rail. Trains from both Manchester Piccadilly and Manchester Victoria run through the station regularly, as well as from Manchester Airport, Blackpool, Southport, Wigan, Blackburn, Preston and Huddersfield. The station is fully accessible for wheelchairs, pushchairs and bicycles.

The Crescent/A6 runs alongside our campus and is a major bus route into and out of Manchester city centre. There are several stops for our campus, so to find the best journey for you, see Transport for Greater Manchester’s Route Explorer.

Parking

While we’d encourage you to take public transportation where possible, if you do choose to drive, we have multiple pay-by-app car parks on campus – listed below – any of which are free to use for your visit today. Please note that the Museum & Art Gallery car park is not owned by the university so is not free today.

If you feel like stretching your legs and want to get a feel for the area, we’re a pretty easy 15 minute walk from Manchester city centre. From the Arndale Centre, head across the River Irwell to Chapel Street and take a left…that will bring you past Salford Central train station (on your left), Salford Cathedral (a bit further up on your right) and, about half a mile later, right to our doorstep.

Manchester International Airport is 10 miles from the University. There are regular, direct train services to and from Salford Crescent station and Manchester Piccadilly. Buses also link the airport and Manchester city centre. To find the best journey for you, see Transport for Greater Manchester’s Route Explorer.
