Following the successful launch of Salford Untold, the University’s Social and Economic Impact report, we are looking to build on this momentum by recognising and rewarding those colleagues who make a significant positive impact on the society and economy in our region. The University of Salford has a long-standing civic mission to improve the lives of people living in Salford and Greater Manchester and be a powerhouse for skills, innovation, and applied research to drive productivity and economic growth. This award seeks to highlight and celebrate the initiative and success of those who have looked beyond the boundaries of our campus and made a difference in the world around us.
It is envisaged that the nominations and winner of this award will form the basis of case studies that can be used in future Social and Economic Impact Reports, which are a key part of how we tell the external world of the positive difference we make, year in and year out, on addressing the societal and economic challenges we face as a region.
So whether it’s making a positive difference to the lives of people in local communities or working with industry to unlock the productivity potential in Greater Manchester – we want to hear from you. The stories of the impact you have made will be told at the Vice-Chancellor’s Awards Dinner on Thursday 12th September 2019 and I look forward to seeing you there.
