Social Responsibility
The University of Salford is an integral part of the local community. With 20,000 students and nearly 2,500 staff, we try to make a positive contribution to Salford and its citizens in a variety of ways. These range from volunteering projects working in local communities to senior members of staff contributing to decision making bodies that affect the lives of Salford citizens.
We work closely with the city council and other agencies to see how we can contribute to the well-being of the city and its residents.
We engage with a wide range of people and organisations in Greater Manchester, as well as regionally, nationally and internationally. These include schools, government and special interest groups.
These community pages are intended to showcase some examples of our public engagement work.
The University of Salford is recognised as being at the forefront of community engagement in the UK. For us, community engagement is about working with people from outside the University so that we understand each other better.
