A 24-hour campus

We’re planning an ambitious project to provide students with a more positive living and learning experience.

By creating an energetic and vibrant campus, which unites accommodation and learning with sports and social facilities, we believe we can revolutionise the way Salford students live their lives.

To achieve this, our vision for change involves building self-contained student residences in the heart of the campus, over looking Peel Park and the David Lewis playing fields.

This will invigorate the University with renewed activity, while at the same time addressing student safety issues and boosting the economy. With 24-hour on-site security and longer opening hours for retail, restaurants and café outlets, the student residences should evolve into a well-managed, accessible part of the wider community.

In return, the relocation of the student residences has the potential to breathe new life into nearby Peel Park.

With the new student accommodation built to overlook this area of historical significance and valuable green space, Peel Park could become one of the most vibrant and appealing inner-city havens in the UK.

And it’s not just students who will benefit. Opened in 1846 “for the enjoyment and recreation of the public”, the revitalised green space will provide a welcome retreat for staff and the local community to enjoy once again.

Like all our other buildings, the student accommodation will be sustainable and energy-efficient.
