A campus with more to offer

The first phase of our Campus Plan is just one part of the wider developments to revive and regenerate our University environment for the benefit of our staff, students and the wider community. Other developments at the University of Salford include:

  • A unique digital learning, teaching and research space at MediaCityUK. We are located in the same building as ITV, and at the heart of six national BBC departments and hundreds of independent creative, digital and media organisations. Over 1,500 students are able to enjoy exceptional opportunities to work with media professionals using the very latest industry specified equipment, studios and labs. This will place them in prime position for digital and media careers.
  • Major refurbishment of the Allerton Building – transforming it into a modern, flexible academic space for our College of Health & Social Care.
  • Our new Energy House - a full-size traditional Coronation Street-style terraced house built in a laboratory to study domestic energy consumption. In a world first, the house is fitted as a typical working home, built in the same style as  a 4.5m pre-1920 UK home, with fully functioning water, gas and electricity supplies. Our academics are conducting tests inside the house to gauge how its energy consumption varies depending on variable factors and conditions.

It's all part of our commitment to the regeneration of the campus and, in turn, the City of Salford.
