Harold Riley Award
The Harold Riley Award for Leadership in Community Engagement is awarded annually to an individual member of staff, or a team, showing exceptional initiative in working with communities. Nominations may be made by staff, students or community organizations and are judged by a panel convened for this purpose.
The award is named after Harold Riley, one of Britain’s foremost contemporary artists with a long and close association with the University of Salford. Harold Riley was mentored by LS Lowry and has, over more than half a century, reflected on Salford and its people through photography, drawing and painting. In this, and in his own distinctive way, Harold has continued Lowry’s work of reflecting on Salford and its communities.
