Community-University Partnerships

Community engagement is a cornerstone of the University of Salford’s mission.  Our work with communities ranges from partnerships with organisations in Salford to projects with international NGOs, and embraces many areas of focus, across all our Schools.

In Salford, we are the third largest employer and approximately 25% of our staff live in Salford as do a large number of our students. Our physical presence in Salford means that we are a neighbour to many communities. Through learning, research and the wider student experience our staff and students connect with many communities. Our engagement activities also extend to communities within the UK and across the world. Community-university partnerships are at the core of our community engagement work, and key to the development of further engagement, bringing further benefits to our students, staff and the communities involved.
