Course Summary

This course provides an opportunity to develop the technical, professional and creative skills required to be a successful practitioner in the graphic design industry.

On successful completion of the foundation degree, you can apply for further study at the University of Salford:

BA (Hons) Graphic Design*

or other universities.

*Entry maybe to level 5 depending on performance at interview.

Full time tuition fee for September 2019 entry: £7,500

Course Details

Learners will be provided with training in the essential skills of visual communication and will have the opportunity to explore a range of forms of visual communication including illustration, print, typography, photography and computer aided graphic design. Through this integrated approach, learners  will be provided with a foundation in the skills required for a range of careers in graphic design and related fields.

English Language Requirements

Applicants will be required to show a proficiency in English. An IELTS score of 6.0 (no element below 5.5) is proof of this.

Applicant profile

Applicants will need 80 UCAS points and a Level 2 qualifications in English and Maths (GCSE Grade C or 4).

All applicants are required to attend an interview for the programme and provide evidence of art and design/graphic design outcomes (e.g. portfolio/exhibition work).

Appropriately experienced applicants will be considered in line with the University’s Accreditation of Prior Learning (APL) procedure.
