Course Summary

This course in Business and Hospitality is designed to develop your knowledge and understanding of core business practices central to the operation of all businesses as well as specialist knowledge and understanding related to Hospitality Management.  You will apply your knowledge and understanding to practical projects and the work environment as part of the work based placement module. The programme is taught at FutureSkills and awarded by the University of Salford.

Entry Requirements

Qualification Entry requirements
GCSE Grade C/4 or above at GCSE (or level 2 equivalent) in both Mathematics and English are required.
UCAS tariff points 64 points

Salford Alternative Entry Scheme (SAES)

We welcome applications from students who may not meet the stated entry criteria but who can demonstrate their ability to pursue the course successfully. Once we have received your application we will assess it and recommend it for SAES if you are an eligible candidate.

There are two different routes through the Salford Alternative Entry Scheme and applicants will be directed to the one appropriate for their course. Assessment will either be through a review of prior learning or through a formal test.

English Language Requirements

Applicants will be required to show a proficiency in English. An IELTS score of 6.0 (no element below 5.5) is proof of this.

The course is designed to develop your knowledge and understanding of core business practices central to the operation of all businesses as well as specialist knowledge and understanding related to Hospitality Management.  

The course is aimed at those seeking entry into or career progression into management positions in the service industry.

You will apply your knowledge and understanding to practical projects and the work environment as part of the work based placement module. The programme is a level 5 qualification awarded in partnership with the University of Salford.

Equivalent professional or academic qualifications (such as NVQ 3 in Hospitality or a related sector) will also be considered please contact admissions for further information. Applications from those holding non-tariff point qualifications in relevant subject areas (such as work based NVQ3s) are welcome.
