To assist organisations in dealing with the some of the challenges in today’s business environment THINKlab has put together a series of workshops available for anyone who wishes to maximise their organisations potential. These workshops are available to individuals and organisational group bookings and can be tailored to suit specific company issues/challenges.

Tailored to address the challenges of an organisations this bespoke workshop can be delivered to individual organisations or a specific industry sector. This insightful and interactive workshop, led by Velresco and run in partnership with THINKlab and Mirrorworld Technologies Ltd, will stimulate your thinking and bring to life ‘How’ we can enhance engagement with different external stakeholder groups, to generate exciting new ideas around service improvement through ‘shared data’ insight - visualised with impact. It will also challenge us to think about how we approach collaboration and how we might work differently as a result, to quickly highlight areas of opportunity for radical improvementBy attending this workshop you will:

  • Understand the power of engagement at a data level and how the right collaboration can add more value to your organisation, your sector and any interfaces with it

A course aimed at increasing your ‘Confidence to Innovate’, which belongs to a series of 2 day courses ‘Vision to Action’ and ‘Built to Last’, which make up a short programme aimed at increasing your capability to ‘Deliver Innovation and Change at pace’. The programme is founded upon the notion that there is a definable need to:

  • Inspire organisations (in particular Ms of SMEs) to learn again and address the ‘I only know what I know’ constraint
  • Gather practical insights into ‘what works’ in Operational Performance Improvement
  • Experience a safe learning environment to bust common myths and challenge what we do Operationally
  • Be part of a community of innovative organisations to increase your confidence to ‘do something better’ or ‘do something differently’
  • Facilitate a greater self-awareness of how to improve personal productivity

On successful completion of this ‘Confidence to Innovate’ course, the delegates will be able to:

  • Demonstrate a critical appreciation of what it takes to make innovation happen
  • Evidence a synthesis of the theoretical underpinnings of the course to demonstrate how that has been applied to increase levels of innovation at a personal and organisational level
  • Critically evaluate personal efficacy and own styles of leadership to influence and support innovation, and actively assess impact on individuals, teams and organisation

Agenda

Day 1 – Creating an Environment for Innovation

  • Discover how to engage staff to innovate through a Vision Led Change™ simulation. This high energy, interactive day will stimulate your thinking and bring to life ‘What and How’ you need to change in order to radically improve your current ways of working. It will help get under the covers of how exactly you can achieve more with the same or less, what the journey might look like, and - sometimes more importantly - what the journey might feel like.
  • You will be involved in an activity that will demonstrate how to trigger innovative thinking to deliver a step-change in performance, with group discussions to reflect on how those insights might apply into the everyday world of your own organisation to ‘Do things better, Do things differently’ or even to ‘Do different things’
  • You will have chance to decode the key features of an innovative organisation whilst relating to your challenges and opportunities for leading innovation

Day 2 – Leading People through change

  • To explore the paradigm of managing or facilitating people through change
  • To introduce people and communication challenges through three aspects; as a leader, as a team and as an individual
  • Widen insight into how these aspects have been used by other organisations to achieve innovation/ successful change
  • To practice and explore how
    • A leader can utilise flexible leadership styles and approaches for leading innovation/ driving change
    • To examine features of building a high performing team
    • To examine approaches for motivating individuals and associated influencing styles
    • Examine different people and communication ‘scenarios’ to reflect different interventions along the three aspects

A course aimed at translating your ‘Vision to Action’, which belongs to a series of 2 day courses ‘Confidence to Innovate’ and ‘Built to Last’, which make up a short programme aimed at increasing your capability to ‘Deliver Innovation and Change at pace’. The programme is founded upon the notion that there is a definable need to:

  • Inspire organisations (in particular Ms of SMEs) to learn again and address the ‘I only know what I know’ constraint
  • Gather practical insights into ‘what works’ in Operational Performance Improvement
  • Experience a safe learning environment to bust common myths and challenge what we do Operationally
  • Be part of a community of innovative organisations to increase your confidence to ‘do something better’ or ‘do something differently’
  • Facilitate a greater self-awareness of how to improve personal productivity.

The course was developed in part to harvest the experiential learnings that the company management had accumulated in their Operational Performance Improvement business to attract organisations to a targeted course that fuses broad operational insight from senior operational executives, with high engagement and innovative products. 

On successful completion of this ‘Vision to Action’ course, the delegates will be able to:

  • Demonstrate a critical appreciation of what it takes to make change happen
  • Evidence a synthesis of the theoretical underpinnings of the course to critically evaluate the efficacy of change that has been attempted in their place of work
  • Critically evaluate personal efficacy to drive change, and actively assess impact on self, individuals, teams and organisation during a period of change.

Agenda

Day 1 – Applied Change Management to ‘Do the right things’

  • Understand patterns of change and factors that can limit change efficacy
  • Discover how to think about holistic change by introducing the business model canvas
  • Explore how to apply customer orientated thinking during a change process by a better understanding of customer journeys and contact points in the traditional and digital space
  • Explore how to assess an organisations readiness for change and practice how to assess your own organisation
  • Understand and practice how to improve organisational maturity and resilience
  • You will have chance to decode the key features of challenging what are the right things to change whilst relating to your challenges and opportunities for leading change.

Day 2 – Applied Change Management to ‘Do Things [and keep things] Right’

  • Understand how to actively translate your vision to tangible action and how to link all component parts successfully together
  • Understand the characteristics of projects and programmes and associated governance requirements
  • Explore planning and risk management approaches that maintain high engagement
  • Explore techniques into how to manage stakeholders
  • Explore the use of visual tracking tools for managing change,  tracking benefits and assuring sustainable change
  • Appreciate the array of  adult learning styles and build a self-awareness of the diversity of learning styles
  • Examine different change ‘scenarios’ from your own experience to reflect how well they were implemented and if the change has been sustained.

  • Explore the history and key decision points for business performance improvement
  • Understand the concept of process segmentation for organisations
  • To practice and explore how to use several techniques for improving process performance including:
    • Voice of the customer, Root cause analysis, Process mapping
  • Practice and reflect how to identify, analyse and challenge processes to discover opportunities for improvement
  • Relate to the delegates challenges and opportunities for applying best practice and debate what is fit for purpose for their needs
  • You will have chance to decode the key features of best practice process improvement techniques whilst relating to your challenges and opportunities for operational improvement.

Day 2 – Driving Operational Performance Improvement through systems thinking

  • Align on common features of  integrated supply chain systems from a services and product perspective
  • Explore the common inhibitors of high performance and introduce the key principles to achieve an integrated systems thinking for product and services supply chains
  • Explore the opportunities of an integrated product supply chain system through a simulation. You will be involved in an activity that will quickly and effectively demonstrate the importance of an integrated system, end to end. This is followed by a decode of the theoretical underpinnings to aid reflection on how the insights therein might apply into the everyday world of your own organisation
  • Explore IT delivery within the context of integrated systems and wider business change and bust some of the myths surrounding IT language and terminology
  • Clarify IT language and terminology to appreciate the fundamentals of IT architecture and how to manage technology change and how to get the best out of available data
  • Examine different system change ‘scenarios’ from your own experience to reflect how well they were implemented and if the change has been sustained.
