Get Ahead

Our Get Ahead programme works with selected students studying level three qualifications. The programme will support their journey to the University of Salford and help to prepare them for University study. Our aim is to introduce and develop the skills students will need to study in HE, such as research skills, team working, problem solving, planning and effective communication.

Other sessions will focus on library study skills, student finance and a tour of our unique facilities at MediaCityUK. The students will have the chance to talk to our current students and find out about different courses and what it’s really like to study here.

This year the programme consists of two three-day events to be held on 12, 13, 14 February and 19, 20, 21 February at 10.00am to 4.00pm each day.

On successful completion of the three days, students will be awarded a 20 point reduction on their UCAS tariff if they apply to study at the University of Salford.

Lunch and refreshments will be provided and students will also be reimbursed for their travel expenses for getting to and from the University over the three days of the programme.
