Salford Alternative Entry Scheme: Costs and Key Dates
Costs
1. The pre-test workshop
The pre-test workshop will run from 10am to 4pm at the University on Saturday 27 April 2013. The cost for the day is £50 and includes refreshments. Your workshop place should be reserved by 19 April 2013 and can be booked and paid for here.
For 2013 we have a pre-test workshop on April 27th. Unfortunately the booking for this has now closed however example test papers can be accessed from MSAP-UK. We will be offering a workshop on August 10th for the those intending to sit the test on August 17th. Details about how to book onto this will be posted in due course. (please note: if the workshop reaches capacity a second workshop may be scheduled for August 12th).
2. The test
In addition to your application to UCAS, you must also apply online, directly to ACER to complete the MSAP-UK test. The cost of applying for the MSAP-UK test in 2013 will be £70. This fee will cover online registration for the test, materials required for the paper test, provision of test results to you and the transfer of results to UCAS. Extended registrations are open 30th April - 5th May (midnight GMT). No additional fees will be applied this year. Registrations for the May 18th test have now closed however there is a second test taking place on Saturday August 17th and registrations for this will open in early June.
3. The Support Bridging Programme
There is no cost for attending the Support Bridging Programme.
Fee waiver
We want to encourage students from all backgrounds to enjoy the advantages of higher education. If you can demonstrate that you meet the following criteria you will be entitled to sit the test without a charge:
- Resident in the Greater Manchester area and with a declared household residual income of £25,000 or less
- Studying towards a BA (Hons), BSc (Hons), BEng (Hons), LLB (Hons), MEng or MPhys course
- Entering year one of an undergraduate degree (level 4)
If you believe you qualify for a fee waiver, please download an application form which you will need to sign and return to us. Please note that all those who pass the test and then register as a student at the University in September 2013, will have the cost of sitting the test reimbursed.
If you are applying for a fee waiver, you will need to tick the ‘pending’ box on the MSAP-UK website form rather than entering card details. If you wish to buy sample question books, you will need to come out of the site and go back into it again in order to make your purchase in the usual way.
The pre-test workshop cost applies to all who choose to attend it.
