We handle thousands of opportunities from employers
who specifically contact the university in order to recruit our students and graduates every year. Opportunities include part-time, volunteering as well as graduate level jobs.
Our guidance services
are delivered by experienced and qualified career development specialists. Our support includes guidance face-to-face, via email, by phone and over Skype. We can help you with polishing your CV, practising your interview skills, as well as planning your career and optimising your job seeking and career development tactics.
Our Enterprise team
can give you individual advice about setting up your own business or working freelance. We provide regular training sessions on subjects related to enterprise, many of which are run by successful entrepreneurs. We can also direct you to relevant funding and good options for incubator space that are run by the university.
Our workshops programme
includes core topics to help you with looking for a job and planning your next steps; including CV and application form writing, job-hunting, personal branding and preparation for assessment centres, psychometric tests and job interviews. Careers and enterprise staff also deliver sessions as part of the core curriculum within programmes, so you may well find us coming to you, rather than waiting for you to come to us.

We offer hundreds of appointments every year for students to get professional feedback
on their CV, cover letter or job application, or application statement for further study or research.
Our careers resources
include access to a wide range of handouts which cover topics relating to job hunting as well as listings of relevant sector careers information. We also have take-away and reference information in our University House location. We provide access to trustworthy external information sources such as films we have purchased from the Association of Graduate Careers Advisory Services, as well as the Going Global portal for international job-hunting and the Graduates First portal for psychometric testing. We are active users of social media (i.e. Twitter and Facebook) through which we continually channel information, news and vacancies to students.
There are a number of sources of funding
that students can take advantage of which we can direct you to. These do continually change so it is something to keep an eye out for. You also have access to searchable databases for further study options.
