Thank you for applying for a place on this course and congratulations on securing an interview. Please read the following instructions carefully, and make sure you allow plenty of time to prepare for your interview.

What will happen at the interview?

The interview will begin with a short Maths and English test, followed by a group exercise and a personal interview.

What do I need to bring to the interview?

You will need to bring the following documents. Please make sure that you have one original and one photocopy of each:

  • Photo ID (such as a passport or driving licence) 
  • A passport-sized photograph, with your name clearly printed on the reverse
  • Original certificates of any qualifications you have already achieved, plus a photocopy

Please note that you won’t be turned away if you don’t have your certificates yet.  However, if you don’t have your photo ID and passport-sized photograph, we will not be able to interview you.

How to find us?

On arrival, please come to the ground floor reception in Allerton Building. This is located on Frederick Road, postcode M6 6PU.

Before you travel, we recommend that you download a campus map or take a look at our travel information. Allerton is number 18 on the map.  Please be aware that you will be charged for car parking; details of the tariff can be found on our website.

It is important to make sure that you arrive promptly and allow sufficient time for travel. If you are travelling during rush hour, be mindful of the effect this may have on your journey time, and plan your trip accordingly.

Please note that if you are more than 10 minutes late, we will not be able to interview you.

Can’t make your interview date?

If you are unable to attend your interview, please contact us as soon as possible to discuss this. In some circumstances we may be able to offer an alternative date, however we cannot guarantee this.  Please call 0161 295 4545 and select the option for interview queries.

I no longer want to attend my interview

If no longer wish to attend your interview we will not be able to continue with your application to the University of Salford. Please email us on enquiries@salford.ac.uk stating your intention to withdraw your application. You should quote your full name, date of birth and UCAS ID number, so that we can deal with your request efficiently. Once we receive this email, we will then make your application unsuccessful on UCAS.

When will I be informed of the decision?

Some applicants will be informed of the decision shortly after their interview, however other decisions will not be available until the end of March.  If you are interviewed after March, we will inform you of our decision before the next UCAS deadline.  All decisions will be made available on UCAS track.

Any offer of a place will be conditional upon our receipt of:

  • A satisfactory Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) check (If you have any concerns about this, please discuss these at your interview)
  • Satisfactory health screening
  • Satisfactory references (if not provided before your interview)
  • Successful completion and proof of the required entry qualifications
