Thank you for applying for a place on this course and congratulations on securing an interview. Please read the following instructions carefully and make sure you allow plenty of time to prepare for your interview.

What will happen at the interview?

You will take part in a task-based group interview that will last around 30 minutes and involve discussion of two scenarios. There will normally be 10 applicants in each group and four interviewers observing. The interviewers will include members of the academic team, clinical tutors and current year 3 students.

In the afternoon you will get an opportunity to tour the clinical teaching facilities, meet some of our year 3 students and members of the academic and clinical team. You will also be able to ask questions about the programme throughout the day. The day will finish at approximately 3pm.

What do I need to bring to the interview?

You will need to bring the following documents. Please make sure that you have one original and one photocopy of each:

  • Photo ID (such as a passport or driving licence)
  • Original certificates of any qualifications you have already achieved, plus photocopy

Please note that you won’t be turned away if you don’t have your certificates yet.  However, if you don’t have your photo ID and we will not be able to interview you.

How to find us

On arrival, please go to Allerton Building, Frederick Road, M6 6PU and report to reception.

Before you travel, we recommend that you download a campus map or take a look at our travel information. Allerton is number 18 on the map.  Please be aware that you will be charged for car parking; details of the tariff can be found on our website.

Salford Crescent train station is only a few minutes’ walk away and has regular trains in to central Manchester.

Please ensure that you arrive promptly and allow time for travel. If you are travelling during rush hour, please be mindful of the effect this may have on your journey time and plan accordingly.

Please note that if you are more than 10 minutes late, we will not be able to interview you.

Can't make your interview date?

If you are unable to attend your interview, please contact us as soon as possible to discuss this. In some circumstances we may be able to offer an alternative date, however we cannot guarantee this.  Please call 0161 295 4545 and select the option for interview queries.

I no longer wish to attend my interview

If you no longer wish to attend your interview, we will not be able to continue your application to the University of Salford. Please email us on stating your intention to withdraw your application. You should quote your full name, date of birth and UCAS ID number so that we can deal with your request efficiently. Once we receive this email we will make your application unsuccessful on UCAS.

When will I be informed of the decision?

Some applicants will be informed of the decision shortly after their interview, however other decisions will not be available until the end of March.  If you are interviewed after March, we will inform you of our decision before the next UCAS deadline.  All decisions will be made available on UCAS track.

Any offer of a place will be conditional upon our receipt of:

  • A satisfactory Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) check (If you have any concerns about this, please discuss these at your interview)
  • Satisfactory health screening
  • Satisfactory references (if not provided before your interview)
  • Successful completion and proof of the required entry qualifications
