Our Applicant Visit Days give offer holders a real flavour of what life is like as a Salford undergraduate student.
Once you have been made an offer you will be sent an invitation to book your place an Applicant Visit Day. In the meantime, you can view available dates by choosing a course below. Please also have a look through the More Information section.
These events are held here at the University and run on Wednesdays and Saturdays. They offer you the best opportunity to explore the campus with a day tailored to suit you. You will have the opportunity to attend taster subject sessions and speak with staff and students about studying at our institution. You will also be able to find out further information about our accommodation, the Students Union, Sports Centre and more.
The ‘More Information’ section below will tell you more about these events.
Because these events are for offer-holders, the majority of Applicant Visit Days will take place between February and April. To see the dates available for your course, select it from the menu below.

Our Applicant Visit Days are the next step on from our Open Days. Even if you have attended an Open Day, we would strongly advise you to attend an Applicant Visit Day as they provide invaluable insight to what it will be like to study and socialise at the University of Salford.
Choosing the right university for you is one of the most important decisions you will make for your future. As an offer holder for one of our courses, you have already narrowed down your choices and now it is all about making sure you have all of the information in order to make that final, all important decision.
We are thrilled to have made it into your shortlist and to help you make that final choice, we would like to offer you the opportunity to join us for an event exclusive to students who have been offered a place at the University of Salford.
You will have the opportunity to build your own Applicant Visit Day by selecting what you’d like to do during the day. The Wednesday events will include optional, bookable talks and tours in the morning, followed by a welcome talk and subject-related activities in the afternoon. Once you have booked your place, your confirmation email will contain your personalised schedule for the day. Depending on the activities you select, the day could start as early as 10am and may run as late as 5pm.
The Saturday events will have the same welcome and subject activities running at a set time during the day, with the optional sessions running as drop-ins around these. We’ll confirm the schedule a little nearer the time, but the event will run from 10am to 4pm.
The optional sessions include:
The specific content of the afternoon sessions will vary by course, but will usually include:
For our off-campus events we’ll have a Welcome Talk giving an overview of the University and the Salford and Manchester area and you’ll then have the chance to chat to our recruitment team and ask any burning questions you might have. All the off-campus events are on Saturdays, 10am to 12noon.
The majority of your Applicant Visit Day will take place at the campus at which your chosen course is predominantly based. We have two campuses – Peel Park and MediaCityUK. To allow you to see the accommodation and student support services, each Visit Day will include some activity at Peel Park and we’ll have coaches on hand to transport you to our other campus if your course activities are taking place there.
We’re taking our Applicant Visit Days on tour and will be visiting a number of cities around the UK. If you’re unable to come to any of our on-campus events, we’d love for you to join us in Belfast, Newcastle, Birmingham or London to meet some of our recruitment staff and find out more about life at the University of Salford. Of course we can’t offer the full visit day experience at these events, but we’ll do our best to give you an overview of the University and you’ll have the chance to ask questions over a cuppa.
The Visit Days are more focused than an Open Day so they are for offer-holders only. It doesn’t matter whether or not you have been to an Open Day before, you will receive more of a subject focus at the Visit Day and it will give you a chance to have another look round. You’re welcome to bring along your parents, guardian or anyone else who will be supporting you in your decision to come to University.
Once you have applied and received an offer from us, you will be sent an email invitation to book onto one of a number of Visit Day dates. The booking page will give you the chance to tailor your day based on your individual circumstances. Once you’ve booked your Visit Day you will be sent a confirmation email including a link to a website with information on travel and transport and our tips for making the most of your visit.
