Tuition fee assessment

Tuition fee assessment

Thank you for your application to the University of Salford. You are currently classed as an overseas student for fee paying purposes as we require further information before we can confirm your fee status. All overseas students are required to pay a study deposit in order to secure their place. Details of this will be included in your offer.

What you need to do now

If you believe you are not an overseas student and fall into one of the categories listed below, please print and complete this fee assessment form and return it to us. If we find that you are eligible for home fee status, we will amend your offer accordingly and the study deposit will no longer apply.

You will be eligible for home fees if:

  • You are an EU national (or the relevant family member of such a person) and have been ordinarily resident in the UK/EEA/Switzerland (and the overseas territories if you are the EU national) for three years prior to the first day of the first academic year of the course*.
  • You have Indefinite Leave to Remain/Enter and have been ordinarily resident in the UK/EEA for three years prior to the first day of the first academic year of the course*.
  • You are a Refugee (or the relevant family member of such a person).
  • You have Humanitarian Protection as a result of a failed asylum application (or are the relevant family member of such a person).
  • You are an EEA Migrant worker (or relevant family member) and have been ordinarily resident in the UK/EEA/Switzerland (and the overseas territories if you are the EU national) for three years prior to the first day of the first academic year of the course*.
  • You are the child of a Turkish Worker and have been ordinarily resident in the UK, EEA or Turkey for three years prior to the first day of the first academic year of the course*.
  • You are the child of a Swiss National and have been ordinarily resident in the UK, EEA or Switzerland for three years prior to the first day of the first academic year of the course*.
  • You would meet the requirements for home fees apart from the fact that you are (or have been) resident outside the EEA for the purpose of temporary employment (or the temporary employment of a relevant family member) during the three year period prior to the first day of the first academic year of the course*.

*If your course starts in September or October 2013 , you will need to show you have been resident since 1st September 2011. If your course starts in a different month, then you may need to ask us what your relevant date is.

Please note that the period of residence in the relevant area should not have been solely for the purposes of receiving full time education. The definitions above are only brief outlines of the eligible categories for home fees and other conditions apply. If you require more details of these then please visit the UKCISA website.

Please be aware that incomplete fee assessment forms or forms returned without supporting documents cannot be processed which may result in your application being delayed or withdrawn.
