Location and Parking
If you are attending any of the optional sessions in the morning, you'll need to visit University House - building number 11 on our campus map - for check-in and refreshments.
If you are coming only for the Welcome talk and afternoon course sessions starting at 1:30pm, please come straight to Mary Seacole Building, building number 14 on the campus map.
How to find us
The University is just 2km from Manchester city centre on the A6 and is well-served by Salford Crescent train station – located right on campus – and regular bus services both into and out of Manchester.
While we do have on-campus parking, we’d recommend you use public transport where possible as parking does become quite limited during term time. If you do choose to drive, be sure to read the Parking section below as we’ll be running a park-and-ride on the day.
More information on how to find the University.
We have multiple pay-by-app car parks on campus – any of which you’re welcome to use – but for our Applicant Visit Day visitors will be running a park-and-ride shuttle from our largest car park, Irwell Place car park (use post code M5 4WT).
We’d strongly recommend you use this as parking can become very limited on campus during teaching weeks. However, please ensure you arrive at least 20 minutes before your first session is scheduled to start to allow for transport to University House.
These shuttles will be starting at 8:45am and are running every 8-10 minutes throughout the morning, with the last one leaving Irwell Place car park at 1pm. If you are arriving after 1pm, we’d suggest you use our Mary Seacole car park (use post code M6 5ST).
You will need to pay for parking anywhere on campus. The parking app, PayByPhone, is used in all of our car parks and currently only Irwell Place and Allerton car parks have pay and display machines.
At the end of the day, the shuttles will restart at 4pm from our Frederick Road campus, returning to Irwell Place car park, and the final bus will leave at 5pm.
