Applying for a Graduate Teaching Assistantship

Contact details for GTA Academic Coordinators and GTA Administrators can be found in this section. Subject enquiries (research and teaching) should be directed to the relevant GTA Academic Coordinator for the School to which you are applying.
How to apply
You will need to apply for a postgraduate research degree by completing the University online application form which will include a summary of your research proposal.
You will also need to complete a Case for Support that provides written evidence of your interest in, and commitment to, undergraduate teaching and learning in higher education, up to 250 words. This must include:
- Your previous teaching or teaching-related experience
- Your interest in, and motivation for, teaching in higher education
- How teaching may benefit your career development.
Your case for support will be sent to the GTA Administrator for the School to which you are applying. Please see our section on School information.
The deadline for receipt of applications is 17 February 2012.
