AHRC Studentships for 2013/2014

The University of Salford is home to world-class scholars and research groups within the Arts and Humanities. The University of Salford, in conjunction with the University of Keele, holds an Arts and Humanities Research Council Block Grant Partnership Award for the period 2011 – 2013 and is therefore able to offer the following AHRC postgraduate studentships for an October 2013 start. These pages provide information on each of the awards available including eligibility and how to apply.

Types of studentship

Doctoral

This studentship provides support for three years of full-time study, or five years part-time study on a course leading to the award of a doctoral degree. A full award includes tuition fees and a maintenance grant. The full-time maintenance stipend level for 2012/13 for Doctoral Awards was £13,590 p.a.

Professional Preparation Masters

This studentship provides support for students undertaking Masters courses that focus on developing high-level skills and competencies for professional practice in a field relevant to the content of the course. Awards will be for one year’s full-time study or two year’s part-time study. A full award includes tuition fees and a maintenance grant. The full-time maintenance stipend level for 2012/13 for Professional Preparation Masters Awards was £8,845 p.a.

The deadline for receipt of all applications is 8 March 2013.

The selection process

All applications will be assessed by a panel of senior academics from within the subject area and shortlisted candidates will be invited for interview in early April 2013.
