Library Renewal

The Library will now renew your books for you

The Library has made it easier for you to get the books you want, when you want them.

The Library will now renew borrowed books each week, meaning you don’t have to remember. We’ve made this change because you told us you wanted it.

All books will be issued for a one week period and then automatically renewed weekly for up to a year unless requested by another borrower. Requested books should be available in a week – much quicker than before.

Dominic Marsh, Library Services Manager said: "This change is part of an ongoing programme directed at making it easier for students (and colleagues) to get the books they want.”

In the last 18 months the Library has:

  • removed fines on overdue loans (except for books that have been requested);
  • removed charges for inter-library loans;
  • increased loan entitlements for all students;
  • streamlined the Request service.
