Securing your bike with a D lock will help keep it safe
If you use your bike on campus, you need to secure it with a D lock and put it in the bike shelters provided.
You can access each of our bike shelters on campus by getting your ID card activated at Maxwell reception.
Unfortunately, we have had some bikes stolen from campus; none of these bikes were secured with D locks.
Even in the bike shelter you need to use a D lock, we had two bikes taken from the shelter when somebody left the door open.
You can purchase D locks from the Sports Centre reception for just £10 (RRP £30-40).
The bike shelters are located:
- Next to Clifford Whitworth Library
- At the side of New Adelphi (next to Chapman)
- At the side of Newton (next to New Adelphi)
- At the side of Peel (opposite Newton)
- Maxwell building (down the ramp at the rear)
- Mary Seacole building
Bikes left outside of shelters with inadequate locks will be left with a safety notice.
You should also stick to main campus pathways when riding your bike or walking.
